CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — Baby Lake Sturgeon are swimming wild in the Tennessee River again.
On Thursday, the Tennessee Aquarium celebrated 25 years of its Lake Sturgeon restoration program by releasing about 500 juveniles into the river near downtown Chattanooga.
“These little river giants may look small now, but they play a big role in keeping the Tennessee River clean,” said a Tennessee Aquarium spokesperson. “Lake Sturgeon feed on the river bottom, helping remove debris and improve water quality for everyone who enjoys it.”…
