Chattanooga, TN – Starting Monday, November 3, 2025, the City of Chattanooga Department of Public Works will begin an area-based recovery plan to address delays in brush collection caused by peak seasonal demand, recent software transitions, and staffing shortages. Since January, crews have collected over 10,500 tons of brush citywide, and the department remains committed to completing all residential service requests.
Under the new plan, brush and bulk trash will be collected by area rather than by individual 311 requests. The city will be divided into four areas, with crews sweeping each section street by street during its scheduled week. Residents are reminded to keep brush, bulk trash, bagged yard waste, and leaves separated, as they are collected by different vehicles.
New service requests will be addressed during the area sweeps. Residents can find their collection area and schedule by visiting www.chattanooga.gov/services/waste-recycling/brush-collection or by calling 3-1-1 or 423-643-6311…
