RINGGOLD, Ga. — Adam Leroy Warthen has been a familiar face at Ringgold High School since he graduated in 2003. For students, parents, and faculty, he is more than an alumnus — he is a constant source of energy and support for the Ringgold Tiger Band.
In the Ringgold community, chances are Warthen knows you. Caleb Paxton, a current band member, recalls meeting Warthen for the first time.
“Adam comes onto the sideline. He says, ‘Hey brother,’” Paxton said. “He already knew my name. Had no idea who this man was. And I say, ‘Hey brother, what’s your name?’ And he said, ‘My name is Adam. I know you.
Warthen says he attends band events no matter the weather.
“Everybody knows me, and I’m always here, rain, sleet or snow,” he said…
