Chattanooga Upgrades Traffic Signals and Technology to Improve Commutes for Local Residents

Chattanooga, Tennessee, is installing new smart technology and retiming traffic signals to improve daily commutes. Corey Givens, Manager of Intelligent Transportation Systems, said these upgrades are expected to reduce congestion, save time for drivers, and improve safety. The project is part of the city’s infrastructure improvements.

The city is using Gridsmart GS3 Fisheye Camera Vehicle Detection Systems at several intersections. These include Bonny Oaks Dr. and Hickory Valley Rd., Cherokee Blvd. and Manufacturers Rd., and locations along East Brainerd Rd.
