SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. — A woman in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee suffering from third degree burns over 70 percent of her body managed to identify her attacker to first responders before a helicopter rushed her to the hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
Now, a 39-year-old man is in custody, charged with attempted murder. A witness who held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived said the man told him things like “I had to do it, she’s the devil!” and “I’m Jesus!”
This happened Tuesday afternoon on Clift Eldridge Road, on a property near Soddy Creek.
