Lawsuit over alleged excessive force in viral arrest by East Ridge High SRO dismissed

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — Court records show that a federal lawsuit claiming a school resource officer used excessive force in the arrest of a former East Ridge High School student has been dismissed.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Tauris Sledge, who was arrested by the SRO for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Video of Sledge’s arrest went viral on social media after it happened.
