Chattanooga family starts new Thanksgiving tradition by serving meals to those in need

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — A Chattanooga family turned Thanksgiving into an act of service this year, choosing to spend the holiday feeding neighbors in need instead of gathering around their own table.

Feeding America reports more than a million people in Tennessee face hunger — roughly one in six residents.

The Chattanooga Area Food Bank says nearly 50,000 children in its 20-county service area struggle with food insecurity.
