Bottled history: Chattanooga debates replacing the first Coke site with new apartments

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — A historic landmark in Chattanooga could be on the verge of losing it’s charm.

19 Patten Parkway, once the site of the first Coca-Cola bottling company, is at the center of a rezoning request to transform it into more than 250 apartments and commercial spaces.

The move has brought concerns from residents like Dari Owens, who owns a salon across the street from the building.
