Chattanooga Apartment fire leaves five residents displaced

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A two-alarm apartment fire in Downtown Chattanooga sent two people to the hospital overnight.

At 12:11 AM on an early Sunday morning, Red Shift companies responded to 500 W Martin Luther King Boulevard after 911 received multiple alerts from the high-rise tower’s fire alarm system.

Responding personnel found that a fire in the trash chute had filled multiple floors with smoke.

A second alarm was called to bring additional crews to the scene to assist with ventilation to remove smoke from several floors, as well as the evacuation of residents…
