Alcoa dominates in 11th straight state title

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WATE) — New class, same title. Alcoa won their 11th straight state title, the Tornadoes first in 4A, with a 47-27 win over Pearl-Cohn Saturday.

Alcoa wasted no time. On the first play of the Tornadoes’ first drive, Micah Jones ran 45 yards to the house, giving Alcoa a quick 7-0 lead. Jones put in a team high 120 yards on the ground against the Firebirds, along with four touchdowns.

Sevier County falls short of 2nd straight championship

On Pearl-Cohn’s ensuing drive, quarterback Josef Funk fumbled, Alcoa’s Cade Stinnett got hold of the pigskin and ran in a three yard score.
