Pet dead after a Dunlap apartment fire Saturday

DUNLAP, Tenn. — No humans were hurt but a pet did lose its life after an apartment caught fire in Dunlap on Saturday morning.

According to a Facebook post from the Dunlap fire department, crews responded to reports of a commercial fire in the downtown business district around 8:20 a.m. central time. It says that smoke was coming through the vents of a hair salon at the corner of Cherry Street and Rankin Avenue.

Crews found a stove on fire in the kitchen of an upstairs apartment. The people that lived in the apartment were able to get out unhurt, but were not able to save their pet, which the post says was named Hank…
