UnitedHealthcare and Bradley Medical Center clash over patient rates

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Bradley Medical Center says it has not ended negotiations with UnitedHealthcare, despite earlier reports that patients with the insurance provider could no longer rely on the hospital for routine care.

The medical center says it was close to a counter-offer when UnitedHealthcare issued an ultimatum. Bradley Medical claims the insurer gave them just two days to accept a proposed rate increase or be removed from the network. The hospital says the rates were unfair and would have affected patients’ access to quality care.
