Steak out at Dalton Walmart: Suspect’s barcode swap nets $100 in ribeyes for $13.90

DALTON, Ga. — Dalton police are asking for the public’s help after a shoplifting case that investigators say involved more than $100 worth of steaks and a barcode swap at a local Walmart.

Police say the theft happened just before noon on Monday, January 5th, at the Walmart on Shugart Road.

Investigators say the suspect went into the grocery section, picked out five steaks, then moved to a different aisle where he covered the original barcodes with different ones…
