Chattanooga plumber urges homeowners to protect their pipes as wintry mix looms

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — With freezing temperatures and a wintry mix expected to hit our viewing area this weekend, plumbers are warning homeowners to take steps now to prevent frozen pipes.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) says frozen pipes are one of the most common causes of winter water damage.

Even a small crack can release hundreds of gallons of water inside a home.

FEMA estimates approximately 250,000 homes and offices suffer damage from frozen pipes each year…
