Chattanooga firefighters battle overnight house fire on West Brow Terrace

Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Fire Department crews responded just after midnight Monday to a residential structure fire on West Brow Terrace off Brainerd Road during a demanding 24-hour shift for Red Shift firefighters.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke and flames were coming from the roof of the home. Firefighters initiated an interior attack and search because it was initially unclear whether the occupant had escaped. Once officials confirmed the resident was safely out of the house, crews were pulled from the structure due to dangerous conditions and transitioned to a defensive attack.

Firefighters later re-entered the home and were able to limit most of the damage to the second floor, officials said. A faulty heating unit is believed to have caused the fire. One person was displaced as a result of the incident…
