A small town on the Alabama-Georgia border has settled a lawsuit related to drinking water contamination from the carpet industry in Georgia, bringing a nearly nine-year long case to an end.
Beasley Allen law firm, which represented the small town of Centre’s water board, announced Thursday that the utility had reached a confidential settlement with DuPont, one of the largest chemical companies in the world, after a one-week trial.
