Follow up: Safety concerns drive reaction as Ooltewah changes speed limits in neighborhood

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. — Drivers in parts of Ooltewah will soon see lower speed limits on four neighborhood roads, and some residents say the change cannot come soon enough.

The Hamilton County Commission voted to amend the county’s master list of roads and speed limits, reducing the posted speed from 30 miles per hour to 20 miles per hour on Savannah Drive, Savannah Lane, Wolftever Drive, and Wolftever Lane.

Commissioner Jeff Eversole said he brought the resolution forward after hearing concerns from people who live in the area.

“And I got the opportunity to come out and talk some to residents and people walking up down the roads, and they all agreed that we needed to address speed,” Eversole said…
