26-001323 – 300 BLK Dunlap Avenue- Auto Theft – Police were dispatched regarding a motor vehicle theft. The owner reported that his black 2012 Hyundai Sonata was missing from his parking lot when he was preparing to leave home. He stated this is the second time the vehicle has been stolen. Previously it was recovered at an apartment complex on Highway 58 in Chattanooga. The owner believes entry was gained because his back door did not fully lock. The vehicle has a distinguishing feature of 5–6 inches of weather-stripping protruding from the hood and bumper seam. He also stated he is the only authorized driver.
