Hamilton County Jail graduates first seven inmates from medication-assisted treatment prog

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — Seven inmates at the Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center have graduated from the new Medication-Assisted Treatment program launched in December.

The program was created in an effort to expand treatment options for people struggling with opioid and alcohol use disorders.

The Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program combines FDA-approved medications with behavioral counseling.
