FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. — An attempted abduction reported at a local Burger King earlier this month has been determined to be false following a police investigation.
On February 17, 2026, officers with the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department responded to 831 Battlefield Parkway in reference to a reported attempted abduction. Prior to officers’ arrival, the suspect — described as a masked male driving a black panel van — had reportedly left the scene.
According to the initial report, a female employee had been taking trash to an outside receptacle when she was approached by a masked man who allegedly tried to get her to come to his vehicle. The employee fled back inside the restaurant and notified management, fearing for her safety. No physical contact occurred, and no further interaction was reported…
