Fraud Alert: Bank Impersonation Scam Targeting Local Residents

DADE COUNTY, Ga. — Bank of Dade is warning customers about an active bank impersonation scam targeting local residents.

According to the alert, scammers are sending text messages that appear to come from Bank of Dade or its fraud monitoring partner, Shazam. The messages typically ask customers to confirm whether they made a recent purchase.

If a recipient replies “NO,” scammers may then call while pretending to be bank representatives. During the call, they attempt to obtain sensitive card information and may even initiate a fake transaction, asking the victim to approve it…
