Chattanooga Police tout largest graduating class in over a decade as vacancies near zero

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Police Department recently celebrated its largest graduating class in more than a decade.

We sat down with CPD Chief John Chambers to talk about improved vacancy rates, pay raises, and cutting down on crime with technology.

Chief chambers says CPD lost 25 sworn positions back in 2021 to help subsidize raises and help them be more competitive.

Since then, they have been able to bring back three of those positions, but the goal is to bring back the remaining 22…
