Shoplifting suspect’s truck bursts into flames after destructive chase through North Alabama

A suspected shoplifter led multiple agencies on a 25-mile chase through North Alabama Saturday morning, allegedly crashing through a drive-thru, destroying property, and eventually leaving behind a truck that went up in flames.

According to the Scottsboro Police Department, 50-year-old Michael Lee White, of Tupelo, Mississippi, is charged with attempting to elude (felony – 20+ mph over posted speed), criminal mischief, resisting arrest, theft of property, and reckless driving (citation).
