Friday morning, law enforcement responded to a situation at the Griffith Elementary school in parking lot involving a parent. The individual was taken into custody along with another adult by local authorities. During the response, law enforcement discovered drugs and weapons inside the individual’s vehicle.
Sequatchie County Sheriff Bill Phillips reports, it is reported that Amanda Yax came to the school in Dunlap hoping to get her child. It was reported the child was not there. Yax appeared to be intoxicated and deputies began to investigate. Deputies discovered suspected drugs in the vehicle as well as a firearm, prohibited from school property.
