Tennessee study finds 28% of roadside trash is tossed on purpose, sparking city action

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — According to a study from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, there are around 100-million pieces of litter on Tennessee roadways.

28 percent of that is classified as intentional litter, meaning it was purposely thrown out of vehicle windows.

Now, a Chattanooga leader is proposing a way to solve this issue.
