CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Lookout Mountain Conservancy says it has signed a contract to buy “one of the most desirable pieces of under developed land remaining in Chattanooga”: Hawkins Ridge.
According to a release from the Lookout Mountain Conservancy (LMC), the land includes 22 acres of forest on Hawkins Ridge in Saint Elmo. LMC says they will buy the land to protect and conserve it.
In the release, LMC president and CEO Dr. Robyn Carlton calls the move a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to preserve land that will last for generations.” Under the contract, the land will remain an undeveloped, natural woodland…
