EPA tested 21 schools: 3 campuses required lead remediation in Chattanooga’s Southside

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — We’re getting more answers from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as we continue to follow lead clean up efforts in Chattanooga’s Southside.

The EPA is focused on eight neighborhoods in Chattanooga, known as the Southside Superfund site.

But those areas include more than homes.

The EPA tells us they sampled the soil at more than 20 schools over the last several years.

Three of the schools needed remediation: the Creative Learning Academy, the Ark Academy Preschool, and Stanley School Chattanooga…
