CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Veterans seeking cancer treatment in Chattanooga will now have access to care closer to home.
The VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System held a grand opening for its new Oncology Services and Infusion Center on Friday.
The new clinic has specialized nurses and oncologist on staff to provide chemo, infusions, radiation and even dietary services for cancer patients.
It’s part of a larger program called “Close To Me,” which aims to make cancer care more accessible to veterans in rural areas.
Previously, many Chattanooga Veterans had to travel to Nashville or Murfreesboro or even Georgia for treatment…
