From battlefield to classroom, Ringgold JROTC leader changes students’ lives

RINGGOLD, Ga. — A young cadet. A soldier in combat. A chef inside the Pentagon. And now, a teacher standing in front of a group of Ringgold High School students who see him as much more than an instructor.

This week’s Pay It Forward honors Sergeant First Class Larry Sisemore, a man whose path has taken him from the battlefield to the classroom.

Sisemore was the first cadet in Catoosa County before joining the Army, where he served for 20 years.

Eight of those years were spent on combat missions, including a year during Desert Storm. Along the way, he lost six fellow soldiers…
