Chattanooga leaders consider letting CARTA boot cars with 3+ unpaid tickets downtown

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — If you’re driving in downtown Chattanooga, you might have a hard time finding a spot to park.

But city leaders say the problem isn’t availability, it’s enforcement of parking fines.

That’s why officials are considering a proposal that would allow CARTA to boot the cars of drivers with 3 or more outstanding tickets.

The booting would apply in areas where CARTA has enforcement authority, including public streets, parking lots and garages…
