Chattanooga city council advances CARTA booting resolution, adds repayment amendment

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga City Council members continue to shape a resolution that would give CARTA the authority to boot vehicles with unpaid tickets.

Tuesday Councilman Dennis Clark proposed an amendment to help people who cannot immediately pay their fines.

“It allows us to create a structured repayment plan so residents with high fines can still get their cars back if they’re booted. We can also secure some funding, including the fee and a 25% down payment,” Clark says…
