SNAP covers food but not hygiene: Ooltewah non-profit Samaritan Center helps bridge gap

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. — While federal assistance programs like SNAP help families put food on the table, they do not cover other necessities like soap, toilet paper, or laundry detergent.

A non-profit called the Samaritan Center in Ooltewah is launching its spring-cleaning drive to help bridge this gap.
