HAMPTON, Va. — The Southern Comfort Restaurant & Lounge could lose a use permit following a public hearing before the Hampton City Council on Wednesday night.
City staff and the Hampton Planning Commission are recommending revocation of one of the establishment’s use permits after alleging the business violated multiple conditions tied to security, reporting criminal activity and surveillance requirements.
According to a presentation prepared for council, the restaurant and lounge at 2163 and 2165 Cunningham Drive first received zoning approval in September 2020 to operate as a restaurant with a retail alcoholic beverage license.
