Boat repair shops experiencing a rush ahead of Harborfest and Sail250®

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Soon, the waters surrounding Hampton Roads will serve as a basin for summer boating. In two weeks, the region will welcome a procession of majestic watercraft trimmed with giant sails catching the mid-June winds that accompany Harborfest and Sail250®.

It’s a signal to the local marine industry to prepare for a busy season. Boat repair shops say they are already feeling the rush.

“We are trying to take care of our usual customers plus the influx of the boats that are ramping up for Harborfest and Sail250®. We’re running a little bit behind but doing our best to keep up with the demand,” David Thompson of Dave’s Marine said…
