Virginia Beach’s newest tool to fight homelessness opens soon

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A unique, brand-new facility designed to combat homelessness in Virginia Beach is nearly ready to open its doors, marking a major milestone for a local organization that has served the community for four decades.

The Judeo-Christian Outreach Center, widely known as JCOC, has been a lifeline for those in need in Virginia Beach for 40 years. After tearing down its aging facility, the organization spent more than two years piecing together its community services from various temporary locations. Staff members are eager to show off the nearly $16 million transformation.
