Gas line strike in Suffolk prompts shelter-in-place order

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A gas line was struck by a construction crew Wednesday morning on South Main Street, prompting a shelter-in-place order to nearby businesses.

According to Suffolk Fire & Rescue, Emergency Communications was contacted in reference to a gas line that had been struck in the 150 block of South Main Street at approximately 10 a.m.
