ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) — A Portsmouth man was arrested in connection to a larceny on Ehringhaus Street in Elizabeth City Friday evening, according to the Elizabeth City Police Department.
Lamar Jones, 39, of the 200 block of Elm Avenue in Portsmouth, has been charged with the following:
- Larceny
- Assault on an individual with a disability
- Possession of stolen goods
- Resisting a public officer
At around 5:11 p.m. on June 19, officers responded to a reported larceny in the 100 block of Ehringhaus Street. As officers headed to the scene, dispatch received information that the suspect had left the area on foot and was being pursued by a concerned resident.
