ShotSpotter alert leads to firearm arrest in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY)– A Prince George man faces charges after a ShotSpotter alerted police on June 13.

That ShotSpotter alerted police to the 300 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard at 2:45 a.m. As officers were canvassing the area, they located then arrested 28-year-old Robert Conrad.

Police say a firearm was confiscated from the scene.

Conrad faces the following charges:

  • Willfully Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place
  • Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled Substance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Reckless Handling of a Firearm
  • Public Intoxication

He was transported to Virginia Beach City Jail and is currently being held without bond…
