The Windsor Town Council reached a consensus June 9 to hold at its next meeting a public hearing about changing the collection of meals tax from quarterly to monthly.
Windsor Town Manager William Saunders made a presentation to the council at its June 9 meeting regarding an amendment to Windsor Ordinance Chapter 130 Taxation, Article IV Meals Tax, Section 130-30 Report of taxes collected; remittance; preservation of records.
“Per town ordinance, meals tax is currently collected quarterly,” he said. “Town administration recommends amending the code to initiate the monthly collection of meals tax.”…
