Northbound lanes at the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel in Suffolk reopen after crash

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — All northbound lanes at the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel in Suffolk have reopened after temporarily closing due to a crash Sunday morning, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

As of 12:11 p.m. on Aug. 2, all of the northbound lanes at the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge Tunnel reopened to traffic.

As of 12:05 p.m., VDOT advised drivers to expect delays in the area due to congestion, with traffic still being backed up to around 1.25 miles.

As of 11:53 a.m., traffic was backed up to around 1.25 miles due to the crash.

According to VDOT Hampton Roads on X at 11:46 a.m., traffic was being detoured through College Drive.
