CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Chesapeake Fire Department units responded on Sunday afternoon to multiple brush fires alongside train tracks in the Hickory area.
Emergency Communications received multiple calls reporting smoke and flames seen along the tracks stretching from Mount Pleasant Road to Etheridge Manor Boulevard.
Firefighters were dispatched at 11:58 a.m. and, upon arrival, saw fires burning along the tracks across several miles. Several units, including brush trucks, were needed to contain the fire due to the distance of the fire…
