NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — For the first time since arriving in December of 2000, the Battleship Wisconsin will soon be pulling away from the Nauticus Pier.
Nauticus officials say that the move will happen from September 8-11 in order to complete a marine fender replacement project.
During this time, the Wisconsin will be moved approximately four to five feet away from the pier.
The operation will include removing the pedestrian bridge that connects the Battleship Wisconsin to Nauticus, releasing the chains securing the ship to the pier and pushing the battleship away from the dock…
