NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police are investigating an Aug. 19 shooting that killed 22-year-old Romeo Camron Bates-Johnson in the Berkley section of the city.
According to loved ones, someone inside a black Dodge Charger shot Bates-Johnson in the chest in a field next to St. Helena Elementary School.
Friends attempted to save Bates-Johnson before he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The shooting occurred after a group of bikers had gathered near the school grounds. As of now, the shooter’s identity is still unknown…
