NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Since moving into her Pembroke Towers apartment a few years ago, Christine Bonavita submitted hundreds of work orders for leaking problems, catching them in cups, buckets and on camera.
For the past several days, water kept leaking through the ceiling of the primary bedroom, flooding her carpet. It took some time for her work order requests to result in action. The waiting game was spent babysitting this particular leak for hours upon hours. Turns out the most recent leak was condensation — stemming from a decades-old pipe system.
It is far from the first time she dealt with leaks. Since moving in, several rooms have taken on water as maintenance crews painted over the patched up damage, still visible today. Bonavita said the leaks are hitting neighbors all around her unit, and she is worried about much more than her own home…
