PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A small army of city employees has taken over the city streets in Portsmouth to Roc the Bloc, with the mission of enhancing the quality of life in city neighborhoods by addressing key issues and to improve the community’s appearance and safety.
“Today we are in Truxton, Arcadia Heights and Douglas Park,” said Peter Glagola with the city of Portsmouth. “We chose this neighborhood because we’ve been getting a couple phone calls from residents saying, there are some streets here that need a little care.”
City employees are on the streets picking up trash, making sure the sidewalks are clean. The trees are getting trimmed and streets are being repaired. along with stormwater and drain repairs…
