PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — It wasn’t the typical groundbreaking, but the one held Wednesday on Crawford Street in Olde Towne Portsmouth, across from the deconstruction of the Municipal Center, is expected to add 44 luxury apartments to the waterfront landscape by November 2027.
The luxury apartments, which mark a $15 million investment into downtown, are part of Phase 2 of the Breeden Company’s Harbor Vista at Crawford Street. The groundbreaking for the project was held inside due to the weather.
“There’s immense demand for multifamily housing in downtown Portsmouth,” said Jake Marshall, chief operating officer of the Breeden Company. “People want to live here. They want to be near the amenities, the employment opportunities, the entertainment, the dining.”…
