NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Those looking to spend more time with a loved one before they board a flight at either Norfolk International Airport or Newport News Williamsburg Airport will soon be able to travel past security without a ticket.
Starting as soon as Friday, the Transportation Security Administration is expanding its Gateside by TSA PreCheck service to both Hampton Roads commercial airports, according to a TSA spokesperson.
TSA now allowing non-ticketed visitors into terminals at several US airports
The program, which has been piloted at 13 other airports across the United States in the last month, allows anyone who books ahead with TSA PreCheck clearance to go through a security checkpoint and travel throughout the concourse, for reasons such as dining, shopping or greeting loved ones at the gate.
