HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — After last week’s nor’easter blew out of Hampton Roads, you might think we’re out of the woods, but Dominion Energy says not so fast.
Nor’easter causes major impacts across Hampton Roads, Outer Banks
“This nor’easter brought a lot of wind, and also, that wind blew around a lot of salt, and so, this nor’easter is still having lingering impacts in Hampton Roads in northeast North Carolina,” said Dominion Energy spokesperson Cherise Newsome.
She described the nor’easter as an all hands-on deck situation for Dominion, who brought in crews from other localities to help with the outages.
“We’ve seen about two peaks of sustained outages,” Newsome said. “The first was last Thursday. We saw about 8,000 outages early in the morning, and then that fell throughout the day as our crews made repairs. But then over this weekend, the salt built up again because the winds were still blowing strong, and we had a peak of about 7,000 outages overnight Saturday to Sunday…
