NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A “mishap” during aircraft recovery operations aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier Monday prompted two pilots to eject from their plane and at least four shipboard personnel were injured, according to U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
The two aviators who were assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 3 were quickly rescued by search-and-rescue personnel, according to U.S. Fleet Forces Command, and medical personnel were evaluating them.
Four other shipboard personnel were injured and are receiving medical care, U.S. Fleet Forces Command said, with one sailor taken to a Norfolk-area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries…
