CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A suspect’s charges in connection with a March 2026 shooting on Grandy Court in Chesapeake were dismissed in Chesapeake General District Court Wednesday morning, according to online court records obtained by 10 On Your Side.
18-year-old Jalen Marrow’s charges were dismissed during a hearing in Chesapeake General District Court at 10 a.m. on Sept. 30. Marrow has a hearing on Oct. 14 in Chesapeake General District Court in connection with charges from a previous incident.
18-year-old charged in Chesapeake shooting that left man in critical condition
At around 10:47 a.m. on March 15, officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Grandy Court for a reported injured person. When officers arrived to the scene, they found a man on the front porch with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers then started life-saving procedures until medics arrived to the scene.
The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and he underwent emergency surgery. He was last reported to be in critical condition.
Marrow was later charged with the following in connection with the shooting:
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
- Dwelling house with intent to murder
- Conspire stab, cut, wound with malicious intent
- Conspire dwelling house with intent to murder
- Wearing of masks or hoods to conceal identity
